The 5K is the first race that will kick off the weekend on Jan. The race starts at EPCOT goes inside the park, then past the Disney’s Beach and Yach Club, past Disney’s BoardWalk and goes back into EPCOT finishing the run around the World Showcase. In this race, runners will run the same path as the marathon in Magic Kingdom and get to go near Spaceship Earth in EPCOT. The half marathon course wll take the runners through Magic Kingdom and EPCOT. At mile 24 you re-enter EPCOT and run around the World Showcase to the Creations Shop and then exit through the area between Mission Space and Test Track into the parking area and the finish. The course has runners briefly passing the Hollywood Tower Hotel down Sunset Bouelvard and out the entrance. After then passing the Disney Coronado Springs Resort and Blizzard Beach, runners will go to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Next is a five-mile trek to Disney’s Animal Kingdom and entering at the rear of the theme park in the Africa section before heading toward Expedition Everest and through Dinoland before exiting the park. Once entering the Magic Kingdom, the cours goes down Main Street, U.S.A, then toward Tomorrowland, through Tomorrowland to Fantasyland, passing Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and then through Cinderella Castle toward Liberty Square, then Adventureland and exiting the Magic Kingdom. The course got past the Contemporary before heading to the Magic Kingdom entrance. 8, 2023, outisde of EPCOT and after a brief run behind the Land pavilion in EPCOT and past Spaceship Earth, the course exits that theme park and winds it way up World Drive toward the Magic Kingdom.
